The company director fired me in front of everyone. Two hours later, he called me and said, “Get up elegant and meet me by the lake. Don’t tell anyone we’re going to meet.” When I arrived, he asked me to take one  photo with him… and the next morning, that picture was hanging in the  door from his office

I had worked in that company for almost five years.

For the past two years, I had stayed until late week after week. When the company was going through economic difficulties, I had barely taken days off

Why?

He remained silent for a few seconds.

Then he said:

“Dress elegantly. And don’t tell anyone we’re gonna see each other.

I literally pulled the phone away from my ear and looked at the screen.

“Mr. Wilson—I don’t understand.
